Wordless Wednesday: Homemade Cooking Spray

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!

Make your own cooking spray -- without the nasty additives!
One part olive oil to five parts water. Shake before each use! SIMPLE!

I am all about Living Simple & Smart and when I saw this picture on Pinterest it resonated with me. Why, because I use Olive Oil to cook already. I have never thought about adding water to it, but that's another awesome thing you can do to thin out the oil. I also use Grapeseed oil, Almond oil and have even dabbled in Coconut oil to cook in addition to my use on my hair and body. I believe I bought Pam when I moved out on my own, years ago. And I am sure my mother used PAM growing up. This post is not to bash PAM but to promote the use NON-ADDITIVES that you can't pronounce or spell. All of the oils I mentioned above definitely do the job better and healthier!

Again, I got this picture from Pinterest but I plan on visiting http://naturesnurtureblog.com/ for some more great Natural tips!

Your thoughts on the oil?

  1. That's very interesting. I didn't know that you could mix olive oil and water like that to make a good, healthy cooking spray. Thanks for sharing this little trick with us!

  5. Leave out the water and just put some oil in a squeeze bottle. Oil and water will not mix without another ingredient to help keep them together. Also, the water will just spatter and pop when it hits a hot surface.
